I am a private tutor who specialises in English and exam/study preparation. I also work part time as a English Language teacher for speakers of other languages.
I really enjoy my work as a private tutor and believe it is just as important to help students build self esteem and confidence, as it is to improve results. I have a strong bond with all of my students and enjoy seeing their successes.
I have also completed a Bachelor of Laws/Arts (majoring in Human Rights Laws and Philosophy) and spent time working as a lawyer. I believe this has given me a well rounded appreciation of the English Language.
In my 'spare time' I am a mum to two boys, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I enjoy baking, binging Netflix and drinking iced lattes.
Currently I am only offering online sessions via Zoom due to Covid 19. I am hoping that I will soon be able to travel again and host tutoring sessions. I do only take onboard a few new students every year and therefore have very limited availability. I am also happy to make exceptions for students who really need assistance, especially during the Covid lockdowns.
Please message me anytime.

Abbey has been very helpful with my son. She has always encouraged him, provided him with useful study notes and been available at all hours for extra help (reading craft essays, providing extra sessions etc).
She creates lessons around his topics of interest and constantly double checks his understanding. I am very grateful that we found Abbey.

Abbey was super helpful for my son. He was struggling to learn the basics of essay writing and Abbey really supported him. She provided him with many different strategies and ensured that he always understood after each lesson.
Her teaching, along with her humour, allowed for my son to grow in confidence and ability.

My daughter was studying both English and Drama for the HSC and Abbey was an absolute lifesaver! She understood the requirements of the new syllabus documents and was always prepared. The HSC is such a stressful time and Abbey was so thoughtful and understanding, showing patience, humour as well as providing strategies that made the learning engaging and purposeful. My daughter went from lacking confidence in her abilities to feeling calmer and like she could really achieve something more under exam conditions. I couldn't recommend her more highly. Thank you so much for everything Abbey!

Abbey was amazing for my HSC English. She was incredibly helpful, always available to help (even if it was reading draft essays I emailed her).
She was always prepared and ensured that I got the most out of every tutoring session. She ensured that I walked away feeling more positive and confident with my skills.
She also provided me with helpful tips for remembering my English notes.
I would recommend Abbey to anyone who is entering year 12 and about to complete their HSC. She is friendly, helpful and probably one of the reasons I got the results I did.
THANK YOU once again Abbey!

Abbey was absolutely fantastic during my senior years of High School! During my HSC, I was studying Ancient History, Modern History and Advanced English which Abbey excelled at when tutoring me. She was always well organised when she would come over. She gave me helpful sources for my subjects and gave me some really easy to techniques for writing essays that gave me the marks I desired. She catered to me being a visual learner and explained things in a way that I would understand. If I was having trouble grasping a concept she was try multiple ways of explaining until I finally understood. She’s very knowledgeable in educating and I know she is more than capable of tutoring any age group. I highly recommend Abbey to any HSC students who just need some extra help. Thanks again Abbey!
