Josephine J Very responsive
Tutoring near Dickson, Canberra, ACT

Hi! My name is Josephine, or Jo for short, and I'm really excited to be a tutor! I am currently studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at ANU, but am going into Psychology. My best subjects in school were English and History, and I did the IB during my years 11 and 12. My raw ATAR score was 95, which was largely due to family difficulties that occurred during Year 12. However, I received disadvantage points from UAC worth up to 5 additional ATAR points during my university admission process, so my raw score is not fully indicative of my potential as a student or teacher, and I was able to get into a very competitive ANU degree. Before I studied and came to Australia I grew up in California in the United States, so I'm really passionate about communicating/working with people from all different backgrounds. My tutoring style is definitely one of positive reinforcement, and I really enjoy helping students build confidence and a holistic appreciation of learning. As a tutor, I can help with a variety of subjects and age groups, as I have previously tutored from ages 7 to 15. I will always put lots of effort into lessons, and will strive to make sure every student feels more confident and capable from our time together!
