Availability during Trimester 3, 2019: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons; all day Sunday.
Location: I live in Castle Cove, and prefer students to visit my house as I have a separate study/tutoring studio. Alternatively, I am also happy to travel to a nearby library or your house! Please note due to current high demand, I am more likely to be able to schedule lessons with students who are willing to have lessons at my house.
3 years of experience in private tutoring as well as tutoring through colleges.
February 2017-November 2018 employed at Capra Coaching in Mosman, mainly coaching year 11 and 12 students in their HSC endeavors.
February 2017-September 2018 employed at Panda College in Chatswood, predominantly coaching students aged 6-14 years, as well as students from a non-English speaking background.
November 2018-June 2019 employed at Smart Dragon in Chatswood, teaching large classes of students with a range of abilities from the ages 6-12.
2018 regularly tutored 7 HSC students, all excelling in their studies.
I enjoy tutoring as I feel it has allowed me to utilise the knowledge and skills I developed in the HSC in a real life environment. I believe it is extremely important to look at the ‘larger picture’ particularly for older years, and thus try to teach in a more engaging and holistic way. As a recently graduated student, I believe it is important for me to not only tutor the relevant subject, but mentor students through the often stressful times of school (particularly year 11 and 12). From my experience, it is this element of tuition which often is overall the most effective - providing stress relief, confidence and real-life applicable advice for year 13. Without this, tutoring becomes a 'second school', and students become disinterested. I tailor my lessons uniquely to each student rather than using a ‘cookie cutter’ approach, and offer free 24/7 marking for regular students.
I have extensive experience with students from all ages and all levels. Whilst English is my predominant tuition strength, I am similarly comfortable teaching Legal Studies, Economics at a year 11/12 level, and Commerce, Science and History at a younger level. I am also able to help with the overall structuring of essays - whether this be at a university level, or any middle/high school subjects.
