About
Dental Student | 99+ ATAR | 2023 Graduate
Hi! My name is Grace, and I’m currently in my third year of Dentistry 🦷 at Griffith University. I graduated from Brisbane Girls Grammar School in 2023 with an ATAR of 99.65 (+ dental/medical interview offers) and I’m eager to help students master preparation for the QCE.
Having recently been through the ATAR system, I’ll help you navigate the ins and outs of exams and assignments and pinpoint the concepts and details examiners consistently look for. I have a very strong foundation in the sciences, mathematics, and English, and I use a tailored ‘feed-forward’ approach to learning that focuses on innovative, targeted explanations and long-term understanding.
I understand what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by a massive maths textbook or to stare at a blank document unsure how to start a science report. However, years of refining effective strategies and techniques enabled me to significantly sharpen my QCE performance — achieving perfect scores in all assignments (including Student Experiments, Research Investigations, English writing tasks, and Maths PSMTs), and averaging over 97% across my Senior subjects (Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics), with 100 in English and 99 in Physics.
At the same time, I believe balance is crucial to academic life. During school, I was actively involved in the Student Council (as House Captain), music ensembles, debating, STEM competitions and Olympiads, Service/volunteering initiatives, and sport, which enhanced my time-management and leadership skills, while helping me to avoid burnout. I have also found genuine satisfaction in mentoring younger peers, through various opportunities (e.g. the Smith Family Reading Program), where I have deepened my passion for helping students unlock their potential and surpass expectations.
Currently, I offer online tutoring via Zoom (I can also use Discord or Microsoft Teams). As a highly visual learner and teacher, I utilise interactive diagrams, annotations, and detailed question breakdowns to form the correct learning pathways, paired with efficient follow-up notes, similar question styles and foolproof answer mechanisms. I’m truly excited to work with you!
