My name is Rhody and I'm a practicing full time Mathematics/Physics/Science/Music teacher at a high school in Toowoomba. I am a responsive teacher who focuses on the whole child. I create strong learning partnerships with my students so that we can work together to meet student goals. I am passionate about my classroom teaching, but also believe that one-on-one tutoring can provide opportunities to better tailor the learning to your child that might not otherwise be possible in environments with large class sizes. I will pay attention to how your child thinks and learns so that I can identify any gaps in learning, and suggest adjustments that could help them both in and out of the school environment. I also believe in the power of literacy within the Mathematics and Science subject areas. Literacy is the gateway to new knowledge and is a key component of improving student numeracy skills. I have specialised training in teaching literacy specific to my teaching areas. My hourly rate is based on the casual teaching rate for school teachers across the state and does not change based on subject areas or year levels. I have both a working with children's card as well as membership with the QLD College of Teachers. I am bound by the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers as part of that membership. Unfortunately, I cannot teach any student who attends a state government institution, as this is a conflict of interest with my employer.
