I am a Chartered Accountant and mum of three girls. Prior to homeschooling, I ran a business called Blooms Tutors. For 6 years the business ran very successfully employing over 40 tutors throughout Brisbane and Ipswich, and a couple on the Gold and Sunshine coasts. I personally tutored for over 12 years in 2 countries, Australia and South Africa. The business was eventually sold to a Japanese investor when I moved full time into homeschooling and sadly is no longer in operation. I have tutored at least 100 students across most grades from primary through to year 12 within the Queensland system, from both state and private schools and am familiar with a large number of schools in the west Brisbane and Ipswich regions. Over 7000 hours of teaching experience. I also have experience tutoring accounting, auditing, business, economics and management at the tertiary level, particularly at tafe, UQ and USQ, and a couple in NSW. My background before opening Blooms Tutors was in auditing and I have a Bachelor of Commerce and an Honours degree in Accounting, as well as having worked for a number of years for PricewaterhouseCoopers where I qualified as a chartered accountant. I love teaching, and especially a one-on-one approach helping students overcome challenging topics and negative beliefs about their ability to learn and understand. My approach is very flexible and I try to fit in with each student’s unique needs. Many of my past students have stayed with me for their full high school term having weekly sessions through to the end of year 12. All sessions held online via Google Meet (as I currently work remote), country wide. I hold a current blue card (working with children check in QLD) Note: I am currently offering online group year 12 revision classes for: - QCE General Maths every Monday evening at 7pm AEST, and - QCE Accounting every Thursday afternoon at 5:30pm AEST and Thursday evening at 7:30pm AEST These classes will be focussed on QCAA year 12 revision to prepare students to sit the mock exam and final external assessment in November. Classes will include revision of all unit 3 and 4 topics and practice questions, thereafter we will be working step-by-step through all available prior QCE external assessments.
