Heya! My name is Helius. I'm studying a Bachelor of Medical Science at Griffith, and I'm from Christchurch, NZ. I love learning about Japanese, math, and of course medicine! I play violin (took itinerant lessons for 7 years), and am a self taught pianist and guitarist. Currently, I'm on a full 7.00 GPA at university.
I'd love to help you with your learning. My best subjects in school were Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English, and Japanese, but I also did Year 12 (Australian Year 11) Biology with perfect grades, so I can definitely help with that. I achieved 97th percentile in Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (2020), 92nd percentile in Cambridge IGCSE English and Literature (2021), and 98th percentile in Cambridge AS Level Mathematics. I also did an advanced math course at the University of Canterbury called STAR course, specifically MATH-199 AIMS. I finished that with a 95% average mark and 100% on the mid-year exam, meaning Cambridge A level further mathematics, specialist mathematics, HL mathematics and everything underneath those is not a problem for me. I have achieved N3 JLPT at 88.6th percentile. I also achieved 92nd percentile on the UCAT 2023 (3060 excluding SJT). I was invited for interviews to Monash and UNSW for medicine.
Sorry for the big paragraph above! I have tutored voluntarily and currently with remuneration. Don't be afraid to make mistakes :) I've been there, and I've seen it all. I am quite adaptable in terms of teaching and can explain things in a multitude of ways. I won't punish you for not doing your homework too... I enjoy making my own practice questions and worksheets for my students to work through. I'll try my best to bring you a fun, but dedicated learning experience.
Happy to do in person tutoring if you're close to Griffith University :) Otherwise, will have to be online or in Griffith University Library. Pretty busy schedule with Medical Science. However, my Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all free basically the whole day. Group tutoring is an extra $10p/h, but note that I won't be able to have all my attention directed at one individual.
