Hi everyone! My name is Jackson, and I am a 17-year-old high school in year 12 at Iona College. I am currently studying the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, General English, Mathematical Methods, Japanese, and Geography. Throughout my schooling career, I have received academic excellence awards in numerous of my year levels, as well as competing in yearly Mathematics and English competitions. However, I am personally a strong believer in a balanced lifestyle between schoolwork, sporting and social activity, as it can help reduce stress and create good habits and a better working mentality. So far in my time at Iona, I have competed in AFL, Volleyball, Soccer, Rugby League, Tennis, Basketball, and athletics, in which I have received many high achievement awards. As a senior High school student, I aim to be a role model to younger students and encourage them in both their academics and sporting journeys, demonstrating to them that it is possible to thrive in both. In my first round of Year 12 assessment, I received a perfect 10/10 in my chemistry exam, as well as 9/10 in my physics, and am confident that I will be receiving similar marks in my remaining subjects as my results are released. I am offering tutoring to students from grades 7-11 in a range of subjects as per my profile. My teaching approach will vary based on each student's ability, as well as their own goals and preferences, and am happy to provide assistance in any task that the students require whether it is homework, assessment or general revision. I am easily able to reteach and explain any challenging or unfamiliar topics/concepts that they come across in class and apply a range of my own strategies as well as personal tips and tricks to help them understand the topics to the best of their abilities. As a mentor, my personal goal is to see students thrive and achieve their goals, as hard work and dedication does pay off with a positive attitude and an optimistic mindset. I also believe strongly in learning to gain a greater understanding, rather than simple memorisation, as much of the content in the Australian curriculum for grades 7-9 are a key foundation for senior studies.
