⭐IB 42.75 | ATAR 99.20 | 2+ years tutoring experience | 500+ hours | UQ Student Hi, my name is Adheesha Suraweera and I graduated from the Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology (QASMT) in 2023, having successfully completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program from which I received an IB 42.75 (equivalent to ATAR 99.20). I am currently a student at the University of Queensland. ⭐ Experience and teaching style: I have over 2 years and 500+ hours of experience with tutoring students and have excellent communication and understanding of students’ needs to help facilitate their full academic potential. As a highly conscientious and diligent tutor, I also have a myriad of resources to assist students: detailed content notes, my exemplar assignments (all high scoring >90%) and IB style question banks. My teaching style is adaptable to each student; I am more than willing to have the student direct the session (e.g. by preparing questions that I can answer and cover in detail during the session) or have a didactic style in which the student can brief me on what needs to be covered (e.g. specific topic / subtopic) and then I prepare material beforehand and teach students in lots of depth. I am happy to discuss IA related material during lessons, or else students may send me their work for me to peruse outside of lesson times (offline) and then provide written feedback (offline is $75 per IA/TOK essay). I received a 9/10 for my TOK essay so I can help guide students with their prescribed essay titles and proofread responses.
