About

I am currently working as a doctor (medical officer, post graduate year 3). I am currently myself studying for specialist training entrance exams and interviews later this year. I completed my medical degree (bachelor of medicine, bachelor of surgery) at The University of Newcastle. I have an extensive amount of experience in tutoring secondary school and tertiary university students. In addition, I completed a bachelor of biomedical science at Griffith university before studying medicine (GP 6.5 Distinction Average). I was in the 2nd decile of my medical cohort (approximately 300 students), and in year 2 received academic distinction. At present, I am a clinical tutor at the University of Queensland's School of Medicine, and an academic tutor at Bond University's School of Medicine. I am also a clinical examiner for Bond University. In order to keep up with the secondary school curriculum and to ensure my knowledge is up to date, I completed a certificate IV in both Chemistry and Mathematics (both at tertiary level). My tutoring style is one that is best tailored to the student, depending on what their goals are and what they're aiming to achieve from the sessions. I consider myself to still be a student after all of these years of study, as the learning is lifelong and a journey involving self improvement. This is why I have such a passion and enjoyment in teaching/mentoring students, as I was not long ago where you are. I'm able to assist in the following subject/content areas: - Year 11 and 12 English, Modern History, Biology and Chemistry (Scored A in all during high school) - Undergraduate anatomy and physiology, chemistry, cell biology - Medical school interview preparation (including cover letters, CV's, personal statements etc) - Medical school entrance exam preparation - Medical school tutoring for years 1-4/5, including SBA, long answer and osce preparation My Qualifications - Queensland Certificate of Education - Bachelor of Biomedical Science - Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery - Graduate Diploma in Public Health Pricing standard is $40 per hour, and may vary depending on the type of tutoring I offer, however this can be discussed before proceeding with the session.
