About

☀️ 99.80 ATAR ☀️ Griffith MD ☀️2nd in Physics ☀️ 6th in Chemistry ☀️ Hi, I'm Jason Liang! I graduated from North Sydney Boys High school in 2019 with an ATAR of 99.80. I am currently studying the Doctor of Medicine at Griffith University after recently completing a Bachelor of Medical Science degree at Griffith University with a maximum 7.0 GPA (Program Dux). I have been tutoring for over 4 years now, helping students achieve and go beyond their personal academic goals. ---------------- 🎓ABOUT ME ---------------- I wasn't always a high-achieving student and well-rounded student. In year 11, I was only an average student in most of my subjects. However, after applying effective and sustainable studying techniques, I saw marked improvements in my academic performance. 📈I moved from 64th in Year 11 Physics to 2nd in Year 12 📈 My study techniques and mindset has not only yielded in excellent HSC (QCE equivalent) results but also carried into my academic achievements in university. As my student, I will not only tutor high-yield content, but also personally mentor you with important overarching skills applicable outside of QCE. These include as time management, discipline, and motivation to study. --------------------------------------------------------------- 📘Tutoring style (Evidence-based education techniques) --------------------------------------------------------------- ⭐ Focus on fundamental understanding ○ I will teach in accordance with Bloom's Taxonomy (education hierarchical model) ○ The new syllabus in Chemistry, Physics, and Maths have a detailed focus on being able to analyse, apply, and synthesis complex concepts ○ Being able to build a strong foundational understanding will help to tackle challenging question ⭐Hands on learning ○ I will not give you the answer straight away but effectively guide and probe students towards the solution ○ Will stay with you 1 on 1 until you understand ○ "Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime" - Lao Tzu ⭐ Developing exam technique ○ Have you lost one or two marks in Short-answer questions and don't know why? ○ Achieving high marks requires exam technique. In other words, knowing how to answer a question the way examiners want you to answer a question. ○ With extensive experience completing countless trial papers and talking with QCE markers, I will pass along tips and tricks to gain more marks ○ I will tutor with detailed working-out, and set exam-styled homework --------------------- 🏠 Where I tutor --------------------- I am currently located in Southport QLD and am willing to travel do in-person tutoring sessions within my area (i.e. Griffith University Library, Southport Library). Alternatively, I offer tutoring for my listed subjects online, via Discord and OneNote. I have a Microsoft Surface Laptop/Tablet along Surface Pen to display hand-written working out on OneNote that will update in real-time on your student's device. On OneNote, I devise lessons where we can both collaboratively write on the screen to develop sound working out. Here, I set homework for the student to also complete. This is a proven method which worked with previous students with no complaints. Message me now for any inquires and consultation/ trial lesson! ---- QCE Equivalent Results (HSC 2019): ✅Physics: 96/100 (2nd in North Sydney Boys) ✅Chemistry: 95/100 (6th in North Sydney Boys) ✅Mathematics Extension 2: 95/100 ✅Mathematics Extension 1: 98/100 ✅English Advanced: 92/100
