About

Hi everyone! My name is Lani and I just graduated Mansfield State High School with an unadjusted ATAR of 96.65. I received first-round entry into my first preference and will begin studying a dual degree of a Bachelor of Mathematics/Bachelor of Business at QUT in February 2024. I have been offered two scholarships from QUT; Women in Science, Mathematics and IT Merit Scholarship and the Faculty of Business and Law Excellence Scholarship. During grade 12, I successfully created, managed and operated my own tutoring business, gaining over 200+ hours of tutoring experience and 10+ clients from a wide range of grades, all whilst juggling schoolwork, a part-time job and sporting commitments. I believe a strength of my tutoring services and why I excel as a tutor is due to my recent graduation, ensuring that my knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and ATAR system is not only comprehensive but also exceptionally fresh and up-to-date. 96.65 ATAR Results 98/100 - Biology (Internal - 50/50, External 48/50) 95/100 - Chemistry (Internal - 50/50, External 45/50) 93/100 - Mathematical Methods (Internal - 47/50, External 46/50) 97/100 - General Mathematics (Internal - 47/50, External 46/50) 94/100 - English (Internal - 71/75, External 23/25) I received subject awards in Grade 12 for biology, chemistry, General mathematics and mathematical methods for achieving 100% in my internal marks. Any of my tutoring students will have access to my internal assessments. My teaching style varies, depending on each student, which is based on their personal goals and preferences. I am offering tutoring of any ability from prep to Grade 12 with a strength and love for mathematics however I can really help with most subjects as listed on my profile. I am happy to provide whatever assistance the student needs, whether it be for assignments, exam revision or homework. I am able to reteach and explain any difficult or confusing concepts/topics the student didn't understand in class and apply a range of study strategies such as retrieval, active recall and practise questions to consolidate understanding. I want each of my students to achieve their academic goals and I believe anything is possible with hard work and a positive attitude. I am passionate about learning for understanding, rather than memorisation as much of the content and skills in the Australian Curriculum in the younger grades are a foundation for more difficult concepts in later education. I am extremely flexible in making the session as convenient as possible and am happy to drive to your property or meet at a library, whatever is easiest. I also offer group tutoring sessions for a cheaper price.
