About

Hi! I'm Aohang. I recently graduated from Brisbane Grammar School (2022) with an adjusted 99.95 ATAR, and am commencing study in Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at UQ this year. As a high school student, I realised the importance of finding the teaching methods that were best suited for me to learn new concepts and ideas. I believe that every student has their own strengths and learning preferences, and having student-centered teaching that is individualised for each student can really help them understand key ideas and subjects. I value the step-by-step process of understanding concepts rather than just memorising ideas to set a foundation of knowledge that can easily be built upon and allow students to link concepts together for more effective and efficient learning. Finding the best way to learn concepts and discover the links between ideas is one of the fun and interesting parts of learning and teaching. As an athlete and musician, my teachers taught me the value of organisation, resilience, and motivation to strive for constant self-improvement to achieve my goals whilst maintaining a balance between my school and social lives. Their belief in my capabilities encouraged me to never stop learning and improving myself to continue to strive for higher goals inside and outside the classroom. I am organized, a hard worker with a keen eye for detail, and very motivated to help you achieve your goals, whilst also becoming a more organised and motivated student myself. These are the senior subjects I studied, along with my grades at the end of grade 12: Mathematical Methods: A Physics: A Chemistry: A German: A Specialist Mathematics: A English: B I am confident in my ability to tutor math and basic physics, chemistry, and German. I enjoy helping students develop their understanding and learning skills to achieve academic success. I will use a variety of teaching techniques, such as flashcards, summary sheets, and diagrams, to assist you in your academic pursuits. Throughout my senior year of high school, I found these techniques to be extremely helpful in increasing my ATAR. I can assist with: - Study skills - Assignment advice and guidance - Understanding concepts and ideas - Time management Please contact me for availability. I can tutor at public libraries around Brisbane or travel to your house (rates will differ depending on where). I strongly encourage setting up consistent timetable for weekly sessions as I believe having a timetable helps students to remain accountable for their studies and will also allow me to prepare sessions to best guide them towards their goals. Although there are many older tutors who may be more experienced to potentially tutor you/your child, what will differentiate me from them is my capacity to teach and help in an engaging manner. After all, I only recently graduated highschool and my experience of studying in highschool are still clear in my mind. The methods I utilised to learn concepts, how I collaborated with peers to understand ideas and most importantly, learning the same content in the same ATAR system as your child will allow me to prepare better lessons and provide up to date and understandable advice. I also experienced working with a class of grade 8s in my final year of highschool which enabled me to identify different learning types and provide the best help to younger students. I look forward to helping you/your child in their academic pursuits not only as a mentor but also as a friend. Feel free to text or email me to discuss how I may be able to help you!
