𝟰𝟱 𝗜𝗕 (𝟵𝟵.𝟵𝟱 𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗥) || Enrolled in 𝗨𝗤 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 || 𝗕𝗦𝗰/𝗕𝗔 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 (majors in Biomedical Science, Latin, Mathematics) || 𝟱 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 as a Private Tutor || 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀, 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵, 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻, 𝗠𝗲𝗱-𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 Hi! I'm Heeju :)) I'm currently doing lab research as an honours student at The Queensland Brain Institute, before commencing med school next year at UQ. I've enjoyed working as a private tutor for 5 years now. I graduated from Saint Kentigern College in 2020 with 45/45 points in the International Baccalaureate (equivalent to a 99.95 ATAR) and scored 3100 on the UCAT that year (98th percentile). I was admitted into the Provisional Medicine scheme at UQ, and in 2024 I completed my undergrad, a dual BSc/BA with majors in Biomedical Science, Mathematics, and Latin. During my undergrad I fell in love with neuroscience, so I applied to do a year of research before med school. I am profoundly interested in academics, and I hope as a tutor to nurture this interest in my students. On a more practical note, I have extensive experience tutoring both high school and university students, and I feel confident in my abilities to provide genuinely useful guidance. Since people learn differently, I'm committed to working with my students to find the best way for them — the study approach that makes revision more enjoyable, the explanation that prompts an 'aha' moment for a tricky concept. Importantly, I am here to listen and provide the help that you want. Some students want weekly sessions, others want occasional ones to talk through an assignment. Whatever it is, let me know and I'll be happy to help you achieve your academic goals :) _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ What I Teach: 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀, 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵, 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻, 𝗠𝗲𝗱-𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆, 𝗨𝗖𝗔𝗧. Recently, I've had students reach out about feedback on written assessments; I am more than happy to do this, I will usually schedule a session to talk through it and then go through in my own time and annotate the assignment for more comprehensive feedback. I have more specialized/curriculum specific insight into the subjects that I took for my IB diploma, which were: English LL (SL), Chemistry (SL), Latin (SL, EE), Mathematics (HL), Physics (HL), and Biology (HL). _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Previous Tutoring Experience and Credentials: I peer tutored in high school for three years, at Crimson Education for a year, and have also tutored university subjects at a UQ college for two years. Furthermore, there is the personal insight from my two years in the IB program and my experience with med school applications.
