About

Hi, I’m Sourish and currently am enrolled in University of New South Wales in Actuarial Studies. I graduated from Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology (QASMT), the top performing high school in Queensland. By tutoring you, I will be able to share the study techniques that I utilised to have such high marks allowing me to share my passion of tutoring evident by my experience of over 100 hours of tutoring.

Achieving high marks in my tutoring subjects as well as in my IAs/essays during Year 11 and 12, I can also assist in writing and editing reports especially in the following IB subjects:
Maths Advanced / Maths Methods / Mathematics SL - 7/7 (A+)
HSC/ATAR Chemistry / Chemistry HL - 7/7 (A+)
HSC/ATAR Economics / Economics HL - 7/7 (A+)
HSC/ATAR Physics / Physics HL - 6/7 (A)

Although I studied the International Baccalaureate program, I can tutor General Science, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Mathematics for both primary and secondary students. I can also tutor upto Method Mathematics for ATAR students.

As a recent graduate of the IB curriculum, I understand the struggles and stress that students go through in school, juggling between studies and a social life! I believe that I can help you achieve your goals in your studies.

I have experience tutoring at QASMT as a Year 12 peer tutor and have also taught other students privately outside school. I can assist in maximising grades whilst recognising the other commitments and extra-curricular activities. I believe that with the right study techniques and time management skills, anyone can progress from being a below-average to a top-performing student. I will also cater for the needs of the specific individual and can provide several resources (cheat sheets, example essays, and past paper explanations) to pass on to students.

I am available at libraries or in-home tutoring depending on the address and on online platforms (e.g. Skype, Zoom, and Facetime). I can also provide both group and individual tuition.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any queries :)

Reviews

Sourish is an excellent math tutor for my son, he helped my son's learning by explaining the steps and concepts in math word problem thoughly and patiently. He always make sure that my son understands the problems and ways to solve them properly by checking it with him and doing more practices before moving on to another excercise. Sourish also communicates well and is a reliable tutor who has flexibility to adapt to the needs. We recommend Sourish as a tutor.

I have Sourish as my physics and economics tutor. He has helped me significantly with my economic assignments and goings though the assignments thoroughly to make sure all content, wording, diagrams etc are perfect. His teaching style is also very easy to follow and he is considerate of your learning pace and what you already know and what you need to learn. He has a deep understanding of the content he teaches and he has good example questions and answers and past papers which is useful for applying the content he teaches while also preparing for exams. I definitely recommend him as a tutor especially if you are doing the IB diploma.

Sourish is a good maths tutor, he gives in depth explanation and makes a point to teach you however you learn best. He also helps you work through your understanding of how the maths works which makes it easier to apply to different questions.

Sourish is a tutor that is very kind, considerate and not at all judgemental. He is a very understanding person that is always willing to try his best to help teach any concepts or questions, regardless of how small they may seem. His lessons aren't at all pressuring, due to his patient approach to teaching and flexible considerations. Making him, an approachable and very supportive tutor for anyone.

Sourish is a hardworking tutor who is always seeking for feedback, in order to provide you with the best learning experience suited for you. He is a considerate tutor who, without a doubt, will give his all to support and explain concepts to the best of his ability.

Sourish tutors me for my Chemistry High Level and Maths Standard Level (Methods Equivalent) and a few other friends from school as well. I started tutoring with Sourish last year when holidays started, and within a few weeks, we have almost covered an entire year of content in both subjects. He teaches with the fundamentals in mind which helps me connect the dots and make sense out of bigger concepts. I have had tutoring with multiple people and most have an unstructured style of teaching which isn't helpful to the student at all, but Sourish has a very structured method and I would recommend to anyone looking for a tutor.

Character references

Sourish was a Business and Economics student of mine for 3 years. He worked solidly and achieved good results. Sourish was able to take on teacher feedback and provide responses to criteria that really met the essence of each component within the criteria. Over time Sourish became proficient in using his time wisely and getting to the point of what was required for learning each topic. He was able to identify what examiners are looking for in responses and became very productive in delivering well structured, to the point responses that met criteria outcomes.
