About

Hi, I'm Vrinda! I am currently completing my PhD at ANU in Biology having received a Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours)- Science at ANU with First Class Honours in 2020. I completed my undergraduate studies with a 6.95/7.0 GPA. I graduated high school in 2016 receiving an ATAR of 99.65. I received a Band 6 (over 90%) in all my subjects at school - Advanced English, Advanced Maths, Extension 1 Maths (Maths Methods equivalent), Biology, Chemistry, Ancient History and History Extension, and would be happy to tutor in any of these areas. I have 7 years of tutoring experience at both a high school and undergraduate university level with a valid Working With Vulnerable People check. I hope to not only help in learning and understanding content, but also developing the specific skills required for each subject, and helping with the organisational and time-management skills that are needed to do well in school. I have been involved as a volunteer in numerous STEM programs aimed at engaging high school students (Robogals, The ConocoPhillips Science Experience, Curious Minds), helped create STEM content for high school students with MeriSTEM and coordinated the Robogals Science Challenge Competition for students since 2021. All that to say that I passionate about actively engaging and encouraging students to enjoy their learning beyond simply learning the required content. I have also had experience teaching students from a range of different backgrounds with different learning needs and can cater my teaching style to best suit each individual student. I am available most evenings and over the weekend, and am happy to go to libraries, or meet over the phone/Zoom/other online platforms for sessions.
