Hello! I'm Laura,
[GPA 6.5, Atar: 97.22, graduated with First Class Honours in Science in 2020 from the leading Australian university (certified Working with Children Card holder)]
I Graduated from the Australian National University in Canberra (consistently ranked as the leading science and research University In Australia and the world) studying a Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability (advanced honours), double majoring in Environmental Science, and Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology.
I am proud to say I graduated with first class honours, a GPA of 6.5, received the Chancellor’s Letter of Commendation for Outstanding Academic Achievement and won the Irene Crespin award for excellence in paleontological studies. I completed my honours on koala conservation research and my literature review has recently been published in a highly acclaimed academic journal.
I am currently a Graduate Environmental Consultant with a global infrastructural engineering consultancy firm.
I am a friendly, kind, patient and understanding person. I love to teach concept learning and allowing students to analyse, interpret and understand how and why something works and not just what the answer is. I believe this allows for more deep and enjoyable learning. Learning should also be fun and include lots of diagrams and brainstorming.
I also teach students how to write effectively and clearly, so that they are able to achieve top marks. Developing technical writing skills, formulating clear arguments and critical thinking is fundamental in nearly all studies. I get an exceeding amount of joy helping others and allowing them to reach their full potential in academia and in life.
As part of tutoring students, I also help with exam prep, time management skills, how to study for certain assessments and how to improve organisational skills. I also implement weekly tasks and help students plan for homework and assessments. This keeps students on track with their work, provides support when needed and assists in minimising procrastination!
Fun fact about me: I was the youngest person in 2009 to climb the Franz Joseph glacier in New Zealand (I was 7 years old).

Laura has been tutoring me in senior general english for a while now and she is amazing!. After each lesson, I feel like I clearly understand every concept and event we have covered and I have seen a massive improvement in my exam grades. I am 100% more confident in answering any exam question: this includes the structure and the actual content for each question. I would definitely recommend Laura!!!

Laura provides maths tutoring for my 13 year old son. His confidence around maths has improved and he looks forward to learning more from her each week. When I asked him how he finds her he responded "Very good", which is high praise from a 13 year old boy.
