Curious about who will be teaching you? Learn more about your tutor below:
Julina Lim is a private tutor with 3 years of experience teaching senior students in both a one-on-one and classroom setting. She is acquiring a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering at UNSW and has work experience as a Research and Development Chemist at a large Australian chemical engineering company manufacturing household products. Combined, these experiences give her vast knowledge and make her capable of teaching you everything inside the NSW Chemistry Syllabus and beyond effectively. She also has experience in the tertiary education space as a Casual Academic at her university. Julina understands that an effective tutor needs to do more than know the content, they need to have the ability to motivate their students to achieve greater heights.
Julina completed her Higher School Certificate (HSC) in 2020 with the highest possible ATAR of 99.95, 1st state rank in HSC Economics, 8th state rank in HSC English Advanced and a high Band 6 mark (> 90%) in all her exams, including Chemistry. She was the Dux of her high school and has gone on to achieve the prestigious Co-op Program Scholarship in the Chemical Engineering stream and Scientia Scholarship at UNSW.
Julina employs a facilitator or activity teaching style that is most effective at developing critical thinking skills in students. She has the ability to form and ask thought provoking questions on the spot that encourage her students to think outside the box. She does this to ensure that her students develop into independent thinkers who can answer questions on their own and therefore thrive in a real exam. Students can expect Julina to teach thoroughly but also for her to ask guiding questions that allow students to solve problems independently. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student feel triumphant when they can tackle a difficult question on their own.
Julina has a valid Working With Children's Check cleared by the NSW Government.
