I have been a private tutor since finishing high school in 2002, specialising in HSC Mathematics. I have 11 years experience tutoring at a tutoring company that run classroom tutoring for small groups of less than 10 students (and in one year, my class grew from 10 students to over 25 and had to be split). I engage with students and ensure that they understand the steps to solving questions rather than giving them the answer. I also prefer to work on a student's weakness rather than trying to keep up with what the students are doing at school. I am a firm believer that a student cannot improve if they do not have the foundations to build upon. Rates are from $50/hr and will depend on what services are required. Rates for assisting with homework and generally are $50/hour for years 7-10 and $60/hour for year 11-12. If more work is required eg preparing additional work, then this can be discussed and arranged.
