Kurtis S
Tutoring near Brighton-Le-Sands, Sydney, NSW & Hurstville, Sydney, NSW

Hey! My name is Kurtis and I completed my HSC with an ATAR of 95.05 at Marist College Kogarah. I am currently enrolled in a double degree with a bachelor in actuarial studies and a bachelor in science majoring in mathematics at UNSW. I have years of experience, 3 of which were spent running my own business and have personally tutored dozens of students in a 1-on-1 format.

COVID-19 Update:
Most of society has been adversely affected by the recent pandemic and I know we’re all feeling frustrated socially, financially or otherwise. With that said I STRONGLY believe that private tuition, especially for senior students, is imperative - especially with the enormous hurdles being placed in front of most educational institutions. Currently, schools that have stopped providing in-person lessons are seeing a large subset of their less independent and autodidactic students struggle, and schools who are continuing, are being held back significantly by the (understandably) high levels of absenteeism; otherwise too many would fall behind. To combat this I’m offering online lessons taught through the platform ‘Zoom’ (although I’m happy to use other media if you have a preference). These lessons involve video-conferencing with my writing from a digital pad constantly streaming to their device. I have already commenced this style of learning and the feedback has been exceptional from the out - please enquire for this service.

For my HSC I studied: Extension II (4u) Mathematics, Extension I (3u) Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Standard English and since then have also completed units in engineering (civil), business (management) and commerce (finance). I now offer unique lessons that cater to the needs of each individual, specialising in HSC/Preliminary Mathematics courses but also have a great deal of experience with younger years. Lessons can be 1,1.5 or 2 hours and will cover all the contents of student’s respective courses. I am situated at Brighton-Le-Sands and am available for classes at my home, yours or any library/study space.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” ~ Nelson Mandela.

This is a statement I strongly believe in and has been a major contributing factor to my decision to establish my own tutoring business, 'Academy of Skills and Knowledge' AKA 'ASK’, don’t be shy to enquire about any other subjects that myself and/or my staff may be able to assist you with. *Note, prices may differ*

I am a keen learner and have a passion for maths that drives me to have the desire to take up tutoring. Throughout my studies and time educating, I have collected many resources which have been meticulously organised and filed and will be of great help to any student.

I very much look forward to using my knowledge and experience with students from primary school through to the HSC to helping you/your children out also!
