MY FAVOURITE SUBJECTS
**Mathematics**
Many students struggle due to gaps in fundamental concepts. Together, we will find and fill these gaps so you can understand, enjoy and excel at maths. For advanced students, I extend and apply content.
**English**
My favourite part about tutoring English is helping students create a body of work, essays and creative writing, which they are proud of. In 2022 my students wrote essays, short stories, novelettes, poems, plays, blogs, research reports and much more.
**Physics, Chemistry and Biology**
It is important to have strategies for memorisation while also engaging in creative inquiry to challenge and clarify concepts. I've given students experience with everything from laboratory microbiology experiments to backyard biology. My favourite project has been designing and 3D printing rocket bodies and using geometry to measure how high they fly.
**Other Subjects**
I also tutor python, Java, JS, and C#. My students have made games in all of these languages and one has even published a game on the Steam store online. Additionally, I tutor most English-language subjects such as history, geography, business studies and economics.

I have developed an online tutoring experience that surpasses in-person tutoring, delivering a visually clear and engaging lesson, tracking student progress and communicating lesson summaries with parents.

ABOUT ME
I currently tutor full time with 21 students from year 6 to year 12. When not tutoring I also manage development of two different websites aiming to improve the tools available for online tutors, TutorTree and TypeMaths. When not working I like to cook; go bouldering with my nephew; swim at the beach with my friends; or make music on my computer. I have a pet rat and fish tanks with guppies, shrimp, bristlenose suckerfish and ornamental snails.

Attended selective Ryde Secondary College, Sydney, years 7-11. Graduated from Grant High School in Portland, OR, USA. Graduated from Macquarie University, B.Sc. in mathematics, having spent at least a year also studying each of English, biology, chemistry and physics.
