Hello, my name is Nicholas and I am a professional private tutor with over six years experience tutoring English and History subjects. In 2021, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Ancient History at Sydney University, where I maintained a distinction average across a variety of essay focused subjects. I completed my HSC in 2015 with an ATAR of 96.2. I have also worked as a teacher’s aide and am currently working as a librarian in an Inner West high school. For effective tuition a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of the subject built through years of experience is essential. I am a passionate student of English and History and an expert with the current HSC curriculum and text list. I have had many years of experience engaging my students with proven strategies and text specific knowledge to improve their results. Through my years of tuition, I have also had the time to study and gather a comprehensive appreciation for a wide range of HSC English texts and History subject areas. This grants my students from various schools the best possible evidence, analysis and direction for their assessments and the HSC. But I also believe that effective tutoring requires more than just an excellent understanding of the subject. Each student approaches learning in a unique way and so communication and an understanding of methods of learning for different students are essential. Through my years of experience am able to identify the specific instruction methods that are necessary to achieve the best possible results for each student. I constantly endeavour to make learning an engaging and fun experience whilst still placing emphasis on explaining concepts as effectively as possible. I am also utilising my growing understanding of teaching methods and my experience working in a school to create specific learning structures for all my students. I have an extensive understanding of the various HSC History and English curriculums as well as the evaluation standards used by teachers and HSC markers. For parents I also offer a free HSC consultation where we can discuss the layout and features of the HSC assessment structure and exam.
