I am a Canberra local who is at the tail end of my studies to become a secondary school teacher in English and Humanities. I have teaching experience at several schools throughout Canberra and the surrounding regions, such as Canberra Grammar School (IB and HSC), Marist College, Queanbeyan High School, and Melba Copeland High School. I also have over 3 years of experience working as a Learning Support Assistant at both Hughes Primary School (IB) and Alfred Deakin High School, where I have specialised in student wellbeing and one-on-one learning support, particularly in reading, writing, and mathematics. On top of all this, I have also worked as a guitar teacher in Melbourne for 8 years and a ceramics teacher in Canberra for 2 years when I was running my ceramics business (Clyde Arnott Ceramics). I believe that students learn best when they trust and get along with their teachers (tutors), so getting to know your student and how they learn is crucial. If you can shape the learning towards their interests, they will learn all the more.
