Luke A.

Hi prospective students and parents! My name's Luke and I am really keen to help you out!! About me: I am a 25yr old prospective teacher/coach who loves to sing, dance and run! After graduating from the University of Sydney in 2023 with a double degree (majoring in wildlife conservation), I have worked in bush regeneration and a plant nursery. I have since pivoted to a role where I can meaningfully help others through sharing my love and understanding of the natural world and biology! More than just a biology tutor, I aim to teach a growth mindset and develop the strategies required to tackle any challenge with confidence. I am very introspective and well-read in the scientific literature for successful study routines and techniques that will take you beyond high school learning! My general teaching approach is: - Tailored to the individual. I want to get to know you and what makes you tick, so I can find the best ways to help you! - Based on scientific literature for durable and long-term learning, incorporating the ideas of active recall, spaced repetition and mixed practise. - More of a coach: teaching you a growth mindset and how to build a reliable study routine to give you confidence in your learning ability! My goal: - For you to feel confident in your understanding of biology including biodiversity, genetics and disease. - For you to understand and practise the learning habits that will allow you to tackle any assignment and exam with confidence. If you think I might be a good fit, please feel free to contact me :)
