Hi, I'm Riwaj, a 2023 Macquarie Fields High School graduate currently studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UNSW. I achieved a 97.70 ATAR, including 95 in HSC Physics and 93 in Mathematics Extension 1. I also ranked 1st in Physics at school. I have over 3 years of tutoring experience across Years 7-12, teaching students in settings ranging from one-to-one lessons to classes up to 11 students. I also have around 1.5 years of private tutoring experience. Over this time, I have taught Mathematics Standard, Mathematics Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1, Physics, junior Mathematics and junior Science. Through my work with Quantum Academy and Phoenix Education, I have also helped develop extensive teaching resources across these subjects. My teaching style focuses on helping students genuinely understand why concepts work rather than simply memorising methods. I then reinforce this understanding through targeted practice, exam-style questions, feedback, response-work with the student(s), and exam techniques. I have worked with students across a very wide range of ability levels. I have helped students who initially struggled significantly in Mathematics and Physics improve to the point of ranking 1st or close to 1st in their cohorts. I have also taught a Mathematics Standard student who progressed from marks as low as 17% to achieving 100% in a school examination. My HSC students have achieved strong results, including mid-to-high 80s and above in Physics and predominantly 90+ results in Mathematics. Because I completed the HSC relatively recently, I also understand the pressures students face throughout Years 11 and 12 and can provide practical advice on study habits, exam preparation, time management and the techniques that helped me succeed myself. I offer tutoring in: - Mathematics Standard - Mathematics Advanced - Mathematics Extension 1 - Year 11 and HSC Physics - Years 7–10 Mathematics - Years 7–10 Science - Selective school preparation I aim to make my lessons structured and challenging, while still approachable. I also adapt my teaching to the individual student and the areas in which they need the most improvement.
