Hi, I’m Nguyen! I am a university student currently studying Occupational Therapy at the University of Canberra. I have two years of tutoring experience and mainly tutor high school Maths, while also offering support in English and Science. I really enjoy helping students understand concepts that they may initially find difficult. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging and easy to follow. Rather than simply guiding students to the correct answer, I focus on creating a strong foundation and explain the steps and reasoning behind each problem so they can develop a deep understanding of the topic and eventually solve questions independently. For Maths, I can help students understand new concepts, work through challenging questions, prepare for tests and exams, catch up on topics they may have struggled with, or get ahead with their schoolwork. I can also provide support with English and Science, including assignments, comprehension, writing and understanding key concepts. As an Occupational Therapy student, I have developed strong communication, problem-solving and interpersonal skills. I understand that students have different learning styles and strengths, so I try to adapt each lesson to the individual student and focus on what will help them learn most effectively. I aim to create a relaxed and positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe building confidence is an important part of tutoring, and I love seeing students go from saying "I don't understand this" to being able to confidently work through problems on their own. Outside of university and tutoring, I enjoy going to the gym, running and reading. I’m hardworking, approachable and genuinely enjoy helping students improve.
