350+ hours teaching experience | Two Master’s degrees in Mathematics | Ranked 73rd nationally in France’s competitive mathematics teaching examination. Hi, I’m Sacha, a mathematics tutor currently based in Melbourne. I have over 350 hours of teaching experience in Paris across secondary and undergraduate levels, including one-to-one and small-group tutoring, as well as a year as an oral mathematics examiner with students at first- and second-year university level. I recently completed a Master’s degree in Mathematical Logic and Foundations of Computer Science at Université Paris Cité, after a Master’s degree in Mathematics at Sorbonne Université. In 2025, I also passed the Agrégation de Mathématiques, France’s national competitive examination for mathematics teachers, ranking 73rd nationally out of 1,103 candidates. I tutor Years 9 to 12 mathematics, including VCE General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics, as well as IB Mathematics. I have also worked through the current VCE study designs, past examinations and assessment materials to make sure my teaching is aligned with the Victorian curriculum. My approach is to first work out exactly where a student is getting stuck, then explain the idea in different ways until it clicks. From there, I use targeted exercises to make sure the student can apply the method independently. I can help with understanding course content, working through exercises, preparing for SACs and exams, or improving mathematical reasoning and problem-solving. I offer both online and in-person tutoring. For online lessons, I work through problems live using a graphics tablet. For in-person lessons, I am based in St Kilda and am generally happy to travel around Melbourne’s inner suburbs and CBD.
