My high school has traditionally not been known for achieving exceptionally high HSC results, and I often saw students around me underestimate what they were capable of simply because of the school they attended. I wanted to change that. Throughout Year 12, I worked hard not only on my own studies, but also to motivate and support the people around me. I shared resources, helped classmates with difficult concepts and encouraged our cohort to aim higher. The result was something I’m incredibly proud of: our cohort improved our school's state ranking by more than 150 places, and I achieved the highest ATAR ever recorded at my school. That experience taught me something I really believe in: your school does not determine your potential. You don't need to attend James Ruse, North Sydney Boys or another highly selective school to achieve an outstanding ATAR. With the right mindset, strategies, resources and support, students from any school can achieve results they are proud of. This is something I try to bring into my tutoring. I understand what it is like to be in an environment where you may not have the same academic culture, resources or expectations as some of the highest-performing schools. I can help students build that environment for themselves and show them what is realistically possible. My teaching style is friendly and personalised. I don't believe in simply giving students formulas to memorise or following a generic lesson plan. I use analogies, visual explanations and real-world examples to make difficult concepts easier to understand, while identifying each student's individual strengths and weaknesses so we can focus on what will make the biggest difference. Most importantly, I want my students to become confident in their own ability. Whether you're struggling with the basics, trying to improve your marks, preparing for exams or aiming for a top ATAR, I want to help you realise that your goals are achievable.
