I have a Bachelor of Business from Macquarie University and have always had a strong interest in history, particularly Modern History. I achieved a Band 6 in HSC Modern History and really enjoyed both the content and the challenge of developing strong historical arguments and essay responses. My approach to tutoring is straightforward and practical. I focus on understanding where a student is currently at, identifying the areas they are struggling with, and then working through those areas in a way that is easy to understand. I can help students improve their historical knowledge, essay writing, source analysis, exam technique and ability to structure strong responses. I also place a big emphasis on understanding what HSC markers are actually looking for and how students can turn their knowledge into higher marks. Outside of tutoring, I have several years of experience coaching children and teenagers in martial arts and sport. This has given me plenty of experience working with different personalities and learning styles, and I try to keep lessons relaxed and engaging while still making sure we are making genuine progress.
