Hey, I'm Jack a tutor with over 150 hours of experience with one on one tutoring. I graduated from Killara High School in 2024, achieving an ATAR of 97.3 and am currently studying a Bachelors of Medical Science (Dalyell Scholars) at the University of Sydney. Having been in your shoes not long ago, I know firsthand how stressful this period can be. It often feels as though you're constantly writing endless English drafts, cramming past papers for Maths, and trying to decipher the hieroglyphics of Chemistry. What I come to realise is that the path to making it through the HSC is often not linear. From personal experience, I can say that there will be setbacks, disappointing marks and moments where it feels as if everyone is moving forward whilst you remain stationary. What I hope to achieve as a tutor, is to help you not only academically through this uncertain time but to help you develop the confidence and persistence necessary when facing challenges in the future. My HSC marks were as follows: Mathematics Advanced: 96/100 (taken in year 11) Mathematics Extension 1: 94/100 Legal Studies: 91/100 Mathematics Extension 2: 89/100 English Advanced: 89/100 English Extension 1: 44/50 Chemistry: 85/100 Finally, I'd like to leave you with this. I wasn't always a high-achieving student. In Year 9, I was at the bottom of my accelerated Maths class, and during English Advanced, it took four consecutive essays scoring 15/20 before I finally broke into the 18/20 range. I believe these experiences have made me a better tutor because I know firsthand what a student needs to do to improve. I've experienced the frustration and self-doubt, but I also know the strategies and mindset that lead to genuine, lasting progress. My goal is to help my students reach that point sooner than I did.
