I'm a passionate piano tutor offering beginner-intermediate piano lessons and HSC Music 1 tutoring. During my HSC I scored 95 in Music and achieved a Band 6, and I completed Grade 8 AMEB Piano. I'm currently studying Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at UTS, which means I understand what it's like to juggle a heavy workload while still needing to perform in a subject you care about. I enjoy teaching music because I believe it's one of the few subjects where technical skill and genuine feeling have to work together. Getting a student to not just play but understand why something sounds good, enabling them to improvise and play beyond a rigid sheet of music. My lessons are built around three goals: 1) Developing your ear and technical ability at the piano 2) Building a strong understanding of music theory 3) For HSC students, applying both to perform and write about music with confidence. I tailor every lesson to the student in front of me. Some people learn best by playing, others need the theory to click first, I pay attention to which one you are. I recommend half-hour classes for beginners, 30$ per half hour. After each session I'm happy to send a short summary of what we covered so parents stay in the loop. I'm also reachable between sessions if questions come up. Music is a subject many students underestimate until they realise how much it rewards real engagement.
