I’m studying Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne. During high school in New Zealand, I completed A Levels and achieved an A in both Biology and Chemistry. As the Australian high school curriculum covers many similar topics at a less advanced level, I can draw on my A Level knowledge to provide students with deeper explanations and a stronger understanding of key concepts, while ensuring the content remains accessible. Although I studied A Levels in high school, I am confident in my ability to teach in the Australian high school system as I have reviewed the learning outcomes and I am capable of doing so!! In each tutoring session, I will adjust my teaching methods to each student's individual strengths and weaknesses, ensuring they receive the support they need to improve. During each lesson, I will: - Review previously learned content to reinforce understanding. - Explain difficult concepts in a clear and simple way. - Answer any questions and address areas of confusion. - Provide personalised practice questions based on the student's weaknesses. - Teach effective study techniques, problem-solving strategies, and exam skills. - Monitor progress regularly and adjust lessons to meet the student's needs. - Build confidence by encouraging independent thinking and celebrating improvement. As a bilingual English and Mandarin speaker, I can help students who experience language barriers by explaining difficult concepts in Mandarin when necessary. This allows them to better understand the content.
