## Leisha Zanardo – Piano & Music Tutor
With over 28 years of teaching experience across Australia and the United Kingdom, I am passionate about helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music.
I hold a Bachelor of Music Education, a Graduate Diploma of Music Studies from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, a Master of Education, and an AMusA in Piano. Throughout my career, I have taught students of all ages and abilities in primary and secondary schools, through private tuition, and in specialist music programs. My leadership roles as Head of Music, Assistant Director of Music, and Head of Year have equipped me with the expertise to inspire, challenge, and support every learner.
Alongside my classroom teaching, I have extensive experience as a private music tutor. I have taught piano from complete beginners through to Associate Diploma level, prepared students for AMEB practical examinations, and tutored Music Theory to Grade VI. During my years teaching in the UK, I successfully prepared students for GCSE and A Level Music examinations, as well as university entrance auditions and interviews, including applications to Oxbridge and leading music conservatoires.
As Head of Year 11, I held equal responsibility for students' academic progression and pastoral care. I designed and delivered programmes in study skills, revision techniques, examination preparation, and wellbeing, helping students develop the confidence, resilience, organisation, and independent learning strategies needed to thrive in high-pressure academic environments. This holistic approach continues to shape my tutoring, ensuring students not only achieve strong results but also enjoy learning and develop the skills to become confident, self-motivated learners.
Every lesson is tailored to the individual student's goals—whether learning for enjoyment, preparing for examinations, developing performance skills, strengthening musicianship, or exploring composition and improvisation. My teaching combines high expectations with patience, encouragement, and a genuine commitment to helping students reach their full potential.
As an award-winning composer and arranger, I also enjoy nurturing students' creativity and musical imagination. I believe music education should be both rigorous and enjoyable, developing technical excellence alongside confidence, curiosity, and self-expression.
Whether you're taking your very first lesson or working towards advanced examinations or university entry, I would be delighted to help you achieve your musical ambitions.
