About

99.30 ATAR | HSC 2023 All-Rounder | 2nd Year UNSW Medicine | UCAT 3160 /94th %tile, 900 QR | Sydney Grammar School 2023 Graduate | Interview Training Hi! I’m Will, and I’m a 2023 Sydney Grammar School graduate currently studying Medicine at the University of New South Wales. With over 4 years of dedicated tutoring experience, I offer personalised online tutoring for Years 5–12, specialising in Mathematics up to Extension 1, Chemistry, French, and Junior Science. Because each lesson is highly personalised, I cap group classes at two students and take a limited number of students. Throughout my time in high school and university, I know what it takes to perform at the highest levels academically whilst prioritising extracurricular sport, music and academic research. On the flipside, I also know how it feels to have put in disproportionate amounts of time, effort and dedication into these subjects, only to feel that my marks do not reflect my work. Ultimately, where I excel as a tutor is helping students bridge the gap between effort and results. My Classes: My classes are an extension of my philosophy outlined below, personalised to your needs. For STEM subjects, lessons often begin by building a clear set of structured notes that model how I think through the topic, before applying that understanding to questions. Questions will be integrated throughout the lesson to both strengthen this working model of understanding and to gradually introduce you to exam-style questions. Finally, worksheets specifically designed to target your weaknesses in understanding and application will be provided weekly for homework, ensuring steady, daily improvement. Furthermore, I design mock exams closer to exam periods that aim to mimic your own exams, ensuring students can integrate their understanding and apply it confidently under exam conditions. Outside of class, I am readily available via email or text for any questions or marking, because I believe that support should not stop outside of the classroom. I aim to answer your queries within 24 hours. Due to the personalised nature of these classes, I cap classes with a maximum of 2 students, and take a limited number of students. My Philosophy: I commonly hear people debate the “secret” to becoming a high achiever. Is it hard work or natural intelligence? No - because neither of them maximise the potential students have. My teaching philosophy is simple: high achievement comes from combining consistent, daily effort with the right systems. Many students work hard but do not know how to study efficiently, identify their weaknesses, or convert understanding into marks. My role is to help students build clearer understanding, better study habits, stronger exam technique, and more confidence. All I need from students is: The ability to be curious and open-minded; with proactive engagement; The ability to be coachable, learn from mistakes, and try again; The ability to stay consistent. This mindset ultimately leads to tangible outcomes. First, the development of a deep, almost intuitive understanding of the subject that sticks in your mind long after the exams. Consistent practice that feels enjoyable, yet focused on weaknesses at hand. Then, optimisation, active integration and recall, whilst practicing exam-style techniques with past papers. And finally - results that match the hard work that you put in. UCAT & Interview Training - UNSW specialist I’m also available to support you if you are an aspiring medicine student! As someone who has been there and improved their score from the 77th percentile to the 94th percentile, I have the know-how on both the mistakes that should not be repeated, and the strategies that helped me improve. I specialise in the Quantitative Reasoning and Decision Making sections, having achieved perfect marks in QR (900) and close to full marks in DM (840). I believe effective UCAT preparation relies first and foremost on the motivation of the student themselves. I aim to supplement this motivation with a detailed study plan in the weeks leading up to the test, tailored to your strengths and weaknesses. Furthermore, I equip you with effective time management strategies, mental tricks, and my own exemplar notes for each subsection are available on demand. For interview training for UNSW only, I offer: Access to hundreds of interview questions encompassing a range of different topics; Realistic mock interview sessions that aim to simulate the real interview, ensuring that the real one goes as smoothly as possible; Detailed, personalised and specific feedback on your responses, with an actionable plan of improvement Successful strategies for tackling the interview Rates: Junior (Y5-10) lessons: $80/hour (1-on-1), $70pp/hour (2-on-1) Senior (Y11-12) lessons: $90/hour (1-on-1), $80pp/hour (2-on-1) UCAT + Medical Interview Training ($100/hour (1-on-1), $90pp/hour (2-on-1) Complimentary Lesson: To gauge whether or not we are a good fit, I offer a complimentary 30 minute first lesson, where we go over your academic history, and where I can best help you.
