Maths has always been my favourite subject to teach. I came 1st in Extension 2 at my school and scored 96 in both Extension 1 and Extension 2, so I know first-hand what it takes to reach a high mark, and how to help a student get there step by step. 📊 My HSC results • 🏆 Extension 2 Mathematics: 96 (School Dux) • Extension 1 Mathematics: 96 (Top 5 in school) • Biology: 93 | Economics: 94 • UCAT 2024: 3310 (98th Percentile) 📚 My experience I've been teaching maths for 3+ years, mainly at Dr. Du Education, one of Sydney's most respected tutoring organisations. In that time I've delivered 20+ classes to over 300 students across every high school year level, from Year 7 right through to HSC. I know the NSW syllabus inside out, including exactly how each topic is assessed and where students most often lose marks. 💡 Why I tutor and what makes me different Honestly, the best part of my week is the moment a tricky concept finally clicks for a student. 😊 I genuinely don't believe anyone is "bad at maths". Usually it's just been taught in a way that never quite clicked for them, and my whole job is to find the way that does. I focus on the why behind every technique, because a student who understands the reasoning can handle any question the exam throws at them, not just the ones they've seen before. 👥 Who I help I work with all kinds of students. Some are rebuilding confidence after falling behind and just need maths to make sense again. Others are strong students chasing Band 6s, E4s or specific goals. I tailor everything to the individual, so the lessons meet each student exactly where they are. 🎯 My approach Every lesson is one on one and fully tailored to the student. We can: • Get ahead of school, so new content already feels familiar when it comes up in class • Move in step with class, to consolidate what they're learning each week • Go back and rebuild earlier gaps that are quietly holding the student back When assessments and exams approach, we shift focus to past papers and exam technique. 🗓️ How a lesson runs We start by going through the student's homework and any questions from school, then move into new content. I explain the concept clearly, we work through examples together, and the student practises with questions ordered from easy to hard so they build real confidence. Each lesson finishes with targeted homework for the week. 📝 My materials I've built a complete set of high quality teaching materials for every year level, aligned to the textbooks schools actually use and based on past exam papers. The structure is there when a student wants it, and I adapt it the moment they need something different. 💬 Support between lessons Tutoring doesn't stop when the lesson ends.
