Throughout my time at Ascham, and particularly through the Dalton Plan, I developed strong time management, organisation and independent learning skills. Having achieved a final HSC mark of 96/100 in both English Advanced and Economics, as well as a Band 6 in Mathematics Advanced, I believe I have gained the knowledge, study habits and exam techniques required to achieve highly in these subjects while maintaining a healthy balance. Understanding the risks of burnout and inefficient study methods, I am passionate about helping students develop strategies that maximise both results and wellbeing. My teaching style involves creating a structured plan tailored to each student's individual strengths, weaknesses and goals. I provide weekly tasks to ensure students remain on track, while also offering opportunities to review work and provide feedback between sessions. I like to introduce content before it is taught in class so that students arrive prepared and can use classroom time to consolidate and deepen their understanding. I also place a strong emphasis on practice questions, repetition and learning from mistakes, all of which I actively support both during and outside lesson times. I understand the need for flexibility and am happy to offer lessons both in person and online. In addition, I provide students with my own notes, summaries and exemplar essays where appropriate. Currently, I am studying a combined Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts at the University of Sydney, majoring in Finance, Economics and International Relations. I have experience tutoring a wide range of students spanning Years 6-12 across 2024/5 both online and in person. Through tutoring, I hope to continue sharing my passion for these subjects while helping students develop efficient, effective and confidence-building study habits.
