Tishan S.

Hi! My name is Tishan Silva and I am a first-year Bachelor of Psychology student at the University of Sydney. I graduated from Regents Park Christian School and achieved an ATAR of 86.95. Throughout high school, I developed a strong academic foundation across a range of subjects, particularly Mathematics, Physics, English and Business Studies. I achieved a Band 6 in Mathematics Advanced with a mark of 91, an E3 in Mathematics Extension 1, and a Band 5 in Business Studies and Physics. I was also Dux of my year in Year 11 and Runner-up Dux in Years 10 and 12. I have experience tutoring five students across primary and high school, ranging from Year 4 to Year 12. This has included tutoring Year 4 and Year 6 students in both Mathematics and English, a Year 8 student in Mathematics, and a Year 12 student studying HSC Physics. As a tutor, I aim to make lessons personalised to each student's needs. I understand that students learn differently, so I can adapt lessons depending on whether they need help understanding concepts, completing homework, preparing for exams or strengthening particular areas of difficulty. I am patient and encouraging while also helping students develop the confidence and skills to work more independently. Having recently completed the HSC myself, I understand the pressures that come with school assessments and exams. I can help students build strong foundations while also developing effective problem-solving and exam techniques, particularly in Mathematics and Physics. I offer tutoring for: * Year 4–10 Mathematics * Year 4–8 English * Year 11–12 Mathematics Advanced * Year 11–12 Physics I am available for both online and in-person lessons, depending on the student's preferences and circumstances. My rates are $35 per hour for primary and junior high school tutoring and $40 per hour for HSC subjects. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to discuss tutoring further!
