I am a VIT registered Secondary School teacher specialising in English and I have operated my own tutoring business since I was a student myself! Over the last 15 years or so, I have particularly helped many VCE English students with their studies, whether in person or online.
My students report greater confidence, are quicker to generate ideas and begin a task, and develop an understanding of structure that becomes second nature, allowing them to focus on the quality of their ideas and vocabulary.
I have worked with some families for 4+ years, tutoring younger siblings once older ones graduate, and I credit this longevity to the safety and rapport I build with students which puts them at ease, as well as the rest of the family.
I have a passion for English and was Dux of both English and Literature in high school, graduating with an ATAR of 97.7 and study scores of 48 in both subjects.
I went on to gain my Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English and Creative Writing, at the University of Melbourne. This is also where I completed my Masters of Secondary Teaching.
I have 5+ years' experience teaching in public secondary schools in Melbourne's inner-north west.
Please note, my rate is negotiable based on whether tutoring is in-person or online, amount of travel, preparation/contact outside of sessions, and individual family situation.
