About

I'm Sam, and I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Economics/Science double degree at the ANU, majoring in chemistry. I graduated from high school with an mark of 42.75/45 in the International Baccalaureate, with an ATAR conversion of 98.75. My top marks were in: Mathematics Analysis and Approaches HL (P1: 103/110 P2: 98/110 P3: 51/55 Overall: 87/100) Chemistry HL (P1: 70/75 P2: 83/90 Overall: 90/100) Economics SL Year 11 Anticipated (P1: 20/25 P2: 33/40 Overall: 80/100) Spanish ab initio (Overall: 96/100) When teaching, I like to begin by understanding what a student already knows. From there, my style can vary depending on skill level. I understand some students may be high-acheivers, and I can challenge them and work through difficult questions to achieve the highest possible marks. For students that may require more support, I can act as a teacher in a one-on-one setting. This allows me to tailor the lesson style to what benefits the student best, as opposed to group tutors or teachers who deliver information in only one way. Before taking on a student, I offer short discussions and lessons to work out what type of program best suits the learner.
