Hey! My name is Josh and I have worked alongside countless students over the past 7 years, inspiring them to achieve greater results and to find a deeper interest in learning. I specialize in year 7-10 Maths, as well as Biology and General Maths up to year 12. I have also qualified with my Bachelor's in Biomedical Science with a 6.95 GPA, so I can also tutor subjects such as Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology and Biochemistry at a university level ($60/hr for University tutoring). A bit about me: I'm currently pursuing a career in medicine, studying a Doctor of Medicine at UWA, but I'm originally from Melbourne! Back in Melbourne, I studied my undergraduate in Biomedical Science, and graduated high school back in 2020 (yes, I survived yr 12 in Melbourne lockdowns 😎). When I was in high school, my maths tutor not only taught me the content in an understandable way, but she also inspired me to love learning and to grow as a student and future adult. The ability for me to pay that forward, to inspire the next generation of scientists, doctors, mathematicians and the like, is why I love teaching so much. I don't just want my students to understand the content, I want them grow confident in their abilities, find a deeper love for learning, and be inspired to be the best that they can be! I like to use an online approach, as it's nice and convenient for everyone, though I'm also happy to tutor in person. I often use Microsoft Teams to conduct sessions, as it allows me to easily visually demonstrate content, and work with multiple students at a time. Teaching is one of the best forms of learning, so I like to do group tutoring to allow students to test their understanding by trying to teach others. Of course, if 1 on 1 tutoring is required, I can try my best to accommodate. I study at UWA so meeting there is so ideal, however, if not, we can try and make a way! No student wants more and more homework, so I won't load them with extra content. Instead, I work around the content their learning in school, and focus on ensuring they have a deeper conceptual understanding of the content and are confident in their knowledge and ability!
