If you are looking for a tutor who can quickly identify what is costing you marks, show you exactly how to improve by Trials, and keep you accountable from week to week, I'm here to help!
Hi, I’m Natalie, co-owner of Evolutionary Tutors and a private tutor specialising in HSC English Advanced and HSC English Standard.
English is often treated as a vague or subjective subject, but in my experience, that is rarely the real issue. Most students don't lack the intelligence or effort to excel - they just don't have a clear method. Over the past five years, I have distilled the repeatable structures that will help you produce high-quality responses with confidence and write in a way that aligns closely with the NESA rubric.
Whether you are trying to strengthen the fundamentals or push towards the top end of a Band 6, I begin by understanding your starting point and your goals. By reviewing your past assessments, I quickly identify the patterns holding you back and turn them into your clear, personalised plan for improvement. I show you how to build a strong thesis, write sharper topic sentences, integrate evidence effectively, and develop analysis that genuinely answers the question. We will also cover my proven Band 6 short-answer framework and dive into the nuances of imaginative, discursive, and persuasive writing.
A major difference in my tutoring is the level of support you receive both during and outside of lesson time. In lessons, we do substantial guided practice so I can give you immediate feedback, refine your thinking on the spot, and help you turn concepts into strong written responses straight away. Between lessons, I also provide essay and paragraph marking, targeted written feedback, clear next steps, and access to exemplar essays and assessments, so you continue improving throughout the week rather than only during the lesson itself.
I offer support through both 1:1 online tutoring and school-specific small-group lessons. My group classes are capped at 4 students, so students still receive personalised feedback, the chance to ask questions, and clear weekly accountability, while also benefiting from the energy, discussion, and motivation of learning alongside other focused students. These groups are designed around each school’s lesson plan, texts, assessments, and exam requirements, so the teaching remains structured, relevant, and directly connected to what students need to improve at school. For many students, this creates the best of both worlds: expert teaching, individual support, and the opportunity to learn faster through a high-quality small-group environment.
I am also an ICF-accredited life coach, which means I support you not just with subject knowledge, but also with confidence, focus, consistency, procrastination, perfectionism, and exam pressure. I can also provide university and career guidance, particularly if you are interested in law, commerce, and related pathways.
In addition to English, I also tutor HSC Business Studies and HSC Economics, helping you simplify complex content, strengthen your written responses, and prepare strategically for assessments and exams.
I offer 1:1 online tutoring for $120/hour and small-group lessons (4 students) at $60/hour per student.
If you are looking for a tutor who combines strong academic results, extensive experience, detailed feedback, and genuine care, I would love to help!
I graduated from Cherrybrook Technology High School with an ATAR of 99.50. My HSC results included English Advanced 96, English Extension 1 46/50, Business Studies 96, Mathematics Advanced 95, Chemistry 94 and Economics 93.
After school, I completed a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Economics at the University of New South Wales and graduated with Distinction.
I am also ICF-accredited as a life coach, which complements my academic background by equipping me with practical tools to support students with confidence, focus, motivation and self-management.
My education and training allow me to support students not only with strong subject knowledge, but also with the mindset, structure and accountability needed to perform at a high level.
