Hi everyone, my name is Nelson and I am currently studying a commerce/computer science double degree at UNSW College. I graduated from Marist Catholic College Penshurst with an atar of 96.9 with strong band 6 results in Maths Advanced, Extension 1, Chemistry and Studies of Religion 1. Additionally, I placed 1st in year 10 Maths and 1st/2nd in year 11 and 12 Maths Advanced respectively. During my early high school years, I struggled greatly with topics such as algebra, barely passing in years 7 and 8. However, I managed to overcome such challenges and learnt valuable lessons that I wish to deliver to current high school students at all levels of Mathematics. Maths can be an extremely daunting subject and I wish to alleviate the stress or anxiety students face by providing an empathy-based approach focused on instilling confidence and extensively preparing students through a large range of past paper questions and resources. I currently tutor 2 year 12 students in Maths/chemistry and 1 year 9 student in Maths, with another year 9 accelerated student interested in my service. I have experience tutoring at We Future Leaders tutoring centre in Kirrawee and am scheduled to provide weekly maths/chemistry tutoring at my former high school.
