My name is Zakary Jay Nicholls, and I am the senior tutor and founder of ZJNT Education. My academic background is in mathematical sciences, holding degrees in economics, mathematics, and physics. I am also a classically trained pianist and vocalist. My tutoring career has spanned both STEM and CAPA. I offer lessons in math, economics, and physics run online privately through zoom (in home lessons can also be booked locally). I also offer coaching in voice and piano, in person lessons can be booked at the National Music Academy in Newcastle. I have worked as a tutor for 17 years, initially tutoring math and piano when I was in year 12, I enjoyed the work so much (and received so much positive feedback from students and parents) that I built my entire working career around tutoring, education management, and educational consulting. I have taught and coached over 2000 students in a one-on-one setting from primary school all the way up to graduate studies. I have a strong student development and wellbeing focus in my lessons, helping students to develop at a pace which encourages improvement while preventing burnout. I have also been actively engaged in education management, public education, and education consulting. I run a YouTube channel ZJNT Education, with over 400 videos spanning math and physics, and served as the director of the Newcastle Permanent Primary School Maths Competition in 2024, having over seen around 20000 test completions across around 300 schools.
