Hi, my name is Pippa, I am a first-year medical student at the University of Newcastle. I have a strong passion for education and helping students build confidence in their learning. I understand the demands of senior high school and university preparation, and I enjoy supporting students to develop effective study habits that last beyond exams. My strongest subjects were Biology, PDHPE, and Human Services, and I also achieved strong results in Advanced Mathematics and Advanced English. I received a Band 6 in PDHPE and high Band 5s across my other subjects through consistent effort, structured study techniques, and a clear understanding of course expectations. My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and highly involved. I was never naturally “gifted,” so I understand what it takes to work hard, stay motivated, and build skills step-by-step. I focus on clear explanations, active learning, and helping students feel comfortable asking questions so they can truly understand concepts rather than just memorise them. I can assist with understanding course content, improving study strategies, preparing for assessments and exams, and building confidence in challenging subjects. My sessions are personalised to each student’s needs, with a focus on practical techniques that help improve both results and long-term learning skills.
