Tutoring profile Intro Hey, I'm Darragh I am a personable, high achieving tutor who specialises in maths, economics and business studies, the two former of which I am studying at the University of Sydney. My goal is to help your child's understanding of the content and improve their marks to give them the best shot at university! About me I am a passionate, curious learner of the world around me once I put my mind to something I achieve it. Other than academics I have several hobbies including soccer, chess, golf, cooking and tennis. In soccer and tennis I not only have played both but coached kids in their development of skills, which was a learning experience for me particularly to learn how to convey and teach techniques and knowledge of the respective game to the players, a skill that translates well into tutoring. My goal is to work in quantitative finance or similar finance roles that engage my mathematical, logic reasoning side of myself and continue to challenge me. My teaching style For me, in high school I had mixed experiences with how effective teachers' teaching style was. I always enjoyed structured teaching that built on foundational knowledge and gradually taught concepts through relevant examples. This ensured I understood the material intuitively, but then also could apply this theory throughout assessments and exams. This is the same way I approach tutoring with targeted lesson plans that not only cover the content but highlight specific parts that students often get stuck on and therefore how to prepare for exam questions with that in mind.
