Maths Advanced (completed 2021 accelerated) - Band 6 Maths Extension 1 - Band E4 _________________________________________________________________ Hi, my name is Olivia. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Science and Advanced Studies (Honours) at the University of Sydney as a Dalyell Scholar, double majoring in Physics and Mathematics. I offer tutoring services for Years 11 and 12 Mathematics, with a strong focus on building confidence, deep understanding, and exam performance. I graduated from William Clarke College in 2022. In 2021, I completed Mathematics Advanced as an accelerated student, achieving 100% in the HSC exam and a state rank of 17th in NSW. I then went on to complete Mathematics Extension 1 the following year, receiving a Band E4. At university, I have consistently performed at a high academic level, maintaining a distinction WAM across my degree. My work in physics has been formally recognised through the Foundation Prize for Excellence in Intermediate Physics, reflecting both strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving ability at a tertiary level. I have over three years of tutoring experience in both one-on-one and tutoring centre small classes, working with students across a wide range of abilities and academic goals. This includes supporting high-achieving students from selective schools aiming for top Band 6 results, as well as students seeking structured guidance to strengthen foundational skills, improve consistency, and build the confidence needed to succeed in senior mathematics. This experience has allowed me to adapt my teaching approach to suit each student’s needs, whether that involves extension-style problem solving or focused support with core concepts and exam technique. As a current university mathematics student, my goal is not just to teach students how to do questions, but to help them understand why the mathematics works. I focus on: * clear explanations that build intuition * strong foundations that reduce reliance on memorisation * exam-style problem solving and strategy * helping students set realistic goals and work towards them with confidence Ultimately, I hope to share my genuine passion for mathematics with students, support them through the challenges of senior maths, and help them achieve the outcomes they are capable of, both individually and as a team.
