🎯English Advanced:
I believe that to do well in English Advanced, you should develop a strong personal voice and have a nuanced take on your texts. In our lessons, we will have in-depth discussions on the text’s construction (form, context and purpose) and work together in creating strong written responses. As each module has a unique rubric, the demands for each module are different, thus it is important to approach particular assessments with the correct rubric-centric mindset. It is also very important to develop foundational skills in forming concise, clear analysis, so I will also ensure that students are confident in their writing ability.
Texts studied:
Nineteen Eighty-Four (Common Mod)
King Richard III and Looking for Richard (Mod A)
T.S. Eliot’s Selected Poems (Mod B)
Exemplar responses to these modules will be provided!
*If you are doing alternative texts at school, feel free to send me a message with what you’re studying and I will try my best to cater to your needs.

🎯Economics:
I will guide students on how to effectively cover a high volume of content from their textbooks and how to best answer short and long responses under exam conditions. I place emphasis on drawing connections across topics to form a holistic understanding of the course. This will help students answer the ‘curveball’ questions that are included in trial and HSC papers. Moreover, I will help students develop detailed essay plans for each topic, with access to my own essay plans included.
Pricing:
Private lessons (Yr 11, 12) - $60 per hour (negotiable)
Small classes (2-4 students) - price is negotiable
🎯Maths Extension 1/Maths Adv:

Ayana is an amazing tutor for English Advanced and Economics. She is incredibly knowledgeable on the HSC economics course, and I have benefitted greatly from her clear explanations of theory that I previously struggled to understand. In particular, she has identified specific areas of improvement (e.g. responding to NESA verbs for economics essays and identifying connections between topic areas) as well as helping me improve my essay introductions. Ayana has provided very detailed feedback for practices I have submitted for English Advanced, and has helped me refine my analysis for each module. She also gives fantastic advice on study techniques for the two subjects, and how to review content after class.
