Hi! My name is Mateo, and I'm an experienced, friendly, and passionate Maths tutor for secondary students. I have been tutoring for over 7 years, and find there is nothing more rewarding than helping students reach their potential in what can be often be an intimidating subject. I am also currently studying a Master of Teaching to become a high-school maths teacher - a career path I am very passionate about. I have a demonstrated mastery of mathematical principles, and believe that helping students understand the underlying concepts is the most effective way to improve (as opposed to just rote learning). I am also a very approachable tutor, and always encourage students to ask questions and direct the lesson to suit their needs. I have successfully helped many students achieve their academic goals, whether they needed to catch up, or were eager to get ahead of the curriculum. I have tutored students one-on-one both in-person and online, taught small groups, as well as headed large classes at university. I can teach all levels of secondary maths, from grade 7 up to Grade 12 Specialist. I hold lessons online, at the Camberwell Library, or at your home. During the online lessons, students can see my screen where I write and draw as I explain concepts and demonstrate how to solve problems. This set up has proved very effective at helping students learn remotely.
