I’m Srihaas, a recent graduate from James Ruse Agricultural High School and am currently studying medicine at UNSW. I know what it’s like to feel unsure about whether the work you’re doing is actually helping your marks. But in Year 12, I developed a personalised system that allowed me to always work efficiently, even when time felt like it was constantly running out. This system led to me coming 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬, scoring in the high 99th percentile for UCAT, and matching or surpassing an already high HSC internal mark in 𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐬, including achieving a Chemistry state rank (4th in NSW), and state-rank equivalents in Physics and 4U Maths, securing a high 99.95 ATAR. Don’t worry, I wasn’t studying hours upon hours. I did all this while enjoying Year 12. And you can be sure that my system works for any student because while my internal marks remained consistently high at the most competitive school in NSW, that performance carried straight through into my final HSC external exams, the most important exams of all, without a single shortfall. I only followed one principle. Quality over quantity. My success came down to targeted, efficient teaching approaches using refined question banks, elevating exam technique 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 typical band 6 responses, and a motivation to continuously improve.
