Hi, my name is Emily Rothery and I’m currently studying Business Law at Macquarie University and have a strong passion for helping high school students succeed academically and build confidence in their studies. I was a student at Pymble Ladies College from 2013-2025 and during Years 11 and 12 I studied English Advanced, Maths Standard, Legal Studies, Business Studies, and Dance at Pymble Ladies’ College. My top-performing subjects were Legal Studies, where I ranked 2nd internally and achieved a mark of 95, and Dance, where I also ranked 2nd internally and received a mark of 94, with all three of my major works nominated for Callbacks. I also received a Band 6 in Business Studies with a mark of 93 and Maths Standard with a mark of 91. My teaching style is supportive, structured and personalised. I believe every student learns differently, so I focus on getting to know each student’s needs, goals, and learning preferences before tailoring lessons accordingly. Whether that means breaking down complex syllabus content, improving essay writing structure, or developing effective study habits, I make sure that each session is engaging and productive. As someone who has recently finished the HSC in 2025, I know exactly what markers are looking for and how to translate subject knowledge into top-band results. I can help students refine their exam technique, boost their confidence under pressure, and develop thoughtful, analytical responses that stand out. I also focus on building long-term academic skills such as time management, critical thinking, and self-reflection, that will continue to serve them well beyond the HSC. Above all, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and reach their full potential.
